If I had to pick an absolute favorite song. . .I guess I'd go with Master of Puppets, since it has my favorite solo of all time in it, and it's so aggressive, energetic, and powerful. I'd recommend just about anything they've done, except for maybe St. Anger. The very best stuff was in their first 5 albums (a lot of people say the first 4, but the 5th one was just as bad@ss as the rest, just with a slightly different approach). Those albums are Kill 'Em All, Ride the Lightning (my avatar), Master of Puppets, And Justice for All, and the self-titled "Black Album" (the cover is almost completely black, and the logo is very faint). Their next 2 albums, Load and Reload were also great, but weren't as "metal" as their previous releases. They had a more hard rock feel to them, but unlike the previous albums, some of the songs on these could be considered filler by some. After that, they released an awesome live performance they did with an orchestra called S&M and an all cover songs album called Garage Inc. that was also great.
