As most of you probably noticed, Mylot has reached over the 80000 members this past month. Now im not saying that we should do this, nor am i saying that i agree with this. But do you think that mylot should restrict the amount of members on this site to a certain amount. For example when mylot gets X number of people on this site, do you think they should not let anymore people join the site? Or just plain delete all the old members that aren't active... Your thoughts?

It may not be fair if mylot restrict the amount of members to certian amount ,as mylot is a good forum, I also want more people to participate in the discussions, to set the restiction means many people may not be able to join mylot later on. Or the better way is to delete those inacive members, i believe many members had already leave mylot for other forums, they had not been active for few months, I think they will never come back..May be mylot can send them an email to askthem either they reactive their accounts or they will be delted so that it is fair to everyone.

I'm thinking they might have to. The database is going to get just a teensy bit HUMONGOUS & might start problems. Either that, or they may end up having to buy more upgrades to handle the database & the postings, mainly the space taken up by all of us posting. THey might even have to implement a policy in which if someone was inactive for a certain period of time, that person would be deleted. Things do seem to be holding up pretty well for now. I think things do get done, because every so often, MyLot does end up down for maintenance or upgrades.

I do not believe that they should, nor will they. I do like your idea of deleting inactive members after a certain amount of time (perhaps a year).
