Hooters, the restaurant many have come to know by their scantily clad, sexy waitresses and secondly by their food, will be opening up shop in Israel. It is not stated when construction will be begin on the first Hooters restaurant, but it is said that the waitresses will be wearing the same basic uniform, like you can find in any other of the Hooters locations. Now I don't mind all that much about businesses expanding internationally, but to me I believe they should atleast try to in a sense blend in with the culture. Maybe I am just missing something here or I'm just "old fashioned", but I really don't see a "culture shock" sort of deal being profittable. What are your views on this subject?

if EVER there was a symbolic dream target for terrorists......there it is......it goes so much againts the grain of the surrounding culutres it will surely attract alot of attention to say the least. Isreal is a somewhat open society i guess when it somes to that sort of thing but i just cant see it being left alone by either groups from the surrounding arab countires or the extreme fundimental hebrew groups of isreal

It brings to mind the news story (I think it was) about how many people in those countries were angered by just women in bathing suits or bikinis. When I know that most women in those countries are required to cover themselves. Now I am not sure if that is true about Isreal, but I would persume that there is Muslims living within that area as well. To me it just seems to much of risk, and is putting people's lives in unnecessary danger.

What's the big deal about Hooters really? Other than those silly girls who play around with hula hoops and the messy collage of photos in the Gents? (Well I don't know whether they have the male equivalent in the Ladies. :P) The burgers there are big (YES, I am talking about the real burgers made from flour...) but that's that. I especially can't stand being cheated by the chicken wings. They were so plain and insipid when they were supposed to be hot and spicy. One time was good enough for me. :P

Mainly I am more focused on the fact of culture here. What is normal for you and me, is certainly different to cultures who in most instances require their women to be covered when out in public. Sure certain societies may be more open to the idea, and heck maybe they will embrace it, since it's helping bring some income into the country, but it seems it's very risky in trying such a feat.

Honestly hun I'm not the right person to be asking about this because their are Hooters here in Canada, but I've never been to one. I will more then likely never go to one either. If I'm going to go somewhere to eat I don't really want to go somewhere where the waitress is going to be 1/2 naked. Just my opinion anyhow.

I to perfer to go to a place where the waiters and waitresses are clothed all the way and not exposing even a hint of what lies beneath. When I am trying to eat I don't make it a thing to oogle other people's body parts. Although I do understand that some people like eating at these places, that is their right and in no way I am saying that people should stop going to these places or that it shouldn't expand, but I think they should get a more public view of it, before just saying ok we are gonna build one here, and to hell with what the public says about it.

even if it was a topless restaurant, so what? this is 2007 the waitresses are attractive and wear small costumes, what IS the fuss all about? I was at a Hooters (I had to pee and was sleepy)last month, I got some chilli, it was nasty, the girls there were sort fo cute so it was almost worth $5 for bad chilli

I like Hooters but its too expensive of a place to eat. i know that us men only go there for the"service" but i think the food sucks and its a waste of money to eat there just so you can eye the girls. No your are not old fashioned or so ,hooters have this common opinion from every female .

I have known whole families that have gone to Hooters, and even heard one that says despite the way the women are dressed it is very family oriented, um ok. *shrugs* I have never been to Hooters, only can make a small opinion from what I have heard and read about the place. Nor do I live in Israel, so I can't really say what will happen when Hooters does open there. I just hope my fears are placed wrongly.
