That is very sad news but they seem to be optimistic about it, at least in public. If he feels like he should continue his campaign, then I think he should. He knows better than anyone else whether this is best for him to do or not. She can possibly live quite a few years with the proper treatment and it seems like they caught it at the beginning of it spreading to the bone. I can't help but wonder though if they are more optimistic in public than they really are in private.

I too thought it was heartbreaking news, especially for their children. My prayers go out to them. As for John Edwards campaign...I think it is very very selfish for him to continue on when he is aware that his wife and children will need him. He won't be able to be there when they do really need his emotional and physical support. His actions state that his political career is more important than his family. What does that say about his stance on "family values". I am very disappointed in him. I personally would never vote for someone that chooses status over family.
