Alcohol destroys lives.

I will never drink a beer. No wine. No champagne. I have bee a witness to what alcohol can do to a person. It tore apart my family. It made my mother abandon her children and leave them with their father. It made her attempt suicide on my birthday. But it made her go to rehab, and she is getting better. Why do people drink? It is a depressant, and in most cases (as I have heard) it tastes bad. Why risk becoming addicted to such a waste of substance? Note, I don't wish to bother social drinkers or preach. I would just like to see why people drink, what makes them think it's good.
