Short Stories

I've often thought about writing a book of short stories passed down to me by my grandmother and stories about people I've known in my life. I took an English course in school and the professor told me that I had a natural talent for writing fiction. I wrote several stories about made up characters and enjoyed the excercise so much that I continued it for years after graduation just for the fun of it. Is there anyone else who has this talent and would consider teaming up with me on a book? I think it would be cool to have a collection of short stories by new authors.

I normally write poetry but have been experimenting with non fiction and had the same idea as you- I wanted to document my grandparents stories. I know they won't be here forever, and I want to know more about them. I used them as inspiration for some of my creative writing work in school. What else do you like to write? I'm not so good with fiction, am better at telling the truth. lol

What I normally write is a news blog for newbies. http://news4newbies2.blogspot.com And I have a newbie forum on Adland Pro. I have written several newsletters and an ezine as well but they're no longer around because my hosting company's server crashed and didn't have backups. The thing is, what you write online stays around forever, so you can type your name in search and find just about every article you've ever written if it's online. Try typing my name and see what happens. Rebecca Beasley
