How long should I wait before giving a best response?

I'm less than 10 days here in mylot and haven't given a best response to any of my discussions yet, i was told I should at least wait 10 days or 2 weeks before giving any to allow enough time for many people to respond but i noticed that my discussions are no longer active after 2 or 3 days.. I noticed that many people give best response same day and others leave it for months.. any rules or advice about this? Thanks :)

Wells as said before their is no set rule it really is all up to the poster. I picked best responses to soon in the beginning and regretted it as my first discussions didn't get many responses, then they did as I became more active and acquired more friends. I have tried a couple of different ways after that. The first one was I waited 24 to 48 hours after responses stopped coming in and picked which worked pretty well. I have a few discussions that due to the amount of responses have taken longer to go through and read and choose. The best thing to remember is to give the response to the one that you feel resolved your discussion so whether that is shortly after starting the discussion or longer is entirely up to you. Your the only one that can know if your discussion has been resolved or not. Also, even though a best response has been picked many people will still respond to a discussion after that takes place if they feel they still have something to say. A best response doesn't stop me nor many others here at mylot. :)

oopsss.. wrongly read the post...sorry... It's really up to you to decide.. if you think even the first answer is a good one and is relevant to your discussion, you can give a best response immediately, otherwise you can even just let the discussion hang without a best response.. it's your shot... coz it's your post :)

It purely depends on you getting satisfied with the response that it has answered your question fully.

Hey hi, well there is nothinh like to wait for selecting best response, if you feel the response is best suited or best answer to your discussion as per your views you can select it as a best, then it may be very firts response or some thing got later,, keep posting quality stuff, keep uploading photos which boost your earning , Best luck there, and have a happy earnings!!!

I don't really have any rules for this one, I just mark a best response as soon as I find one that's worthy of it. That could be the first response or the hundredth one. It just depends on what kind of response it is. I don't think you should really take the suggestions of how other people do it in this one. I mean, this is something you can decide on your own. And it also depends on the discussions. Sometimes a discussion might just get only one response, i have some of those, and so before payout day, i just mark that response as best so that the only person who did answer gets a payment boost. But you make your own rules on this one.

For me it depends. I like to give enough people a chance to respond before I choose a best response. Sometimes I forget and then a month will pass before I will check my discussions and get around to picking someone. There are some discussions that only have 2-3 replies and months have passed so I will go back and just select one of those as my best response because at least they replied. I think it's up to each person how they do it. Sometimes when you pick a best response, people will stop replying because they think you are no longer interested in what they have to say so that is another reason I wait sometimes because I really do want to hear what everyone has to say.

Mylot has made changes and giving a best response should take 1 to two days and if not, you can't give it anymore but you just can rate all response in your discussions. That's what happened to most of my discussions. So I just rate comments in my topics.

I suggest you concentrate on earning your points, besides the discussions you started will always be there on your list. Most of us don't take a timeline in choosing who's best in our respondents, but I do manage to choose one from it within time. For example, if you can't see for any discussions that interests you, then you can go back to your own topics and look if you can choose someone whom you think did made an effort in giving up their best inputs.

It depends because I notice that different people will do it in different ways. Sme people will do it in few days while others like to wait for few weeks or so. For me, I will give the best response when I think that most of my friends have already had the reply ,if it is ,I will red the discussion again to give the response.

I personally give best response a day after they stop being commented on! I have found that you still get replys and it is worth checking back on old discussions from time to time to check.
