Hi there surfaholic! I have bought four used appliances ever since I got married. I am very critical about the appliance's condition though. So far, I am very satisfied with the stuff that we bought. First, we bought a second hand tv. For a starting couple, we don't have much money and had to settle for a black and white tv with manual tuning. We bought it for five hundred pesos and it worked okay until we can afford the tv that we have now and we sold it to a friend of my husband for the same amount. They are still using it up to now. That's three years ago. Then, the second and the third one which are not appliances for the house but for my uncle's reasort, which I got from e-bay is the deep fryer and the cash register. Both are working well up to now. We also bought them three years ago. The last one will be the industrial electric fan that we bought from our neighbor also three years ago, and we're still using it up to now here in our computer shop. I think that what we schould do, is to be critical in checking the thing that we're buying. Don't think that only because it is second hand, it's okay if it's not working well. I think that we're still paying for it and of course, we still have the right to choose something that we can actually use for the maximum time, if possible. And also, to maintain the appliances well so that it can reach its maximum serving time and that we'll find it worth more than how much we paid for it.

i have bought used appliances before and usually they work well for a good amount of time. however i bought a used washing machine and it stopped working after a week.luckly the guy who sold it to me was a friend of a friend and he came over and fixed it.otherwise i think i would of been out of luck becuase sometimes used stuff are not garanteed.so buyer beware they say.

Nope, I don't buy used appliances. I consider it as a waste of money. I'd rather buy new and qualitative one to make sure my money is worth it. Used appliances normally runs for a short period of time.
