Is orkut helping people to meet lots of friends?

yes, i found majority of my old friends on orkut, some of them even were not in touch since 3 to 4 years, and i was not having their mail id even.. but thanx to orkut i found many of them and also many people are checking me out so i am developping my new friend circle also..
