How do you deal with an overly compulsive boss or supervisor?

I was an intern at a particular center once, I had this Obsessive compulsive clinical supervisor. He was soo KEEN about the details of the paperworks that I submit to him- even up to the last punctuation and capitalization of letters, if it wasn't perfect enough for him- i had to redo everything! having him as my clinical supervisor was really a lot of work- specially back at that time because i didnt have a personal computer yet- so i had to rent out just to retype or edit the paperworks. He wouldn't even let go of a misplaced hyphen...the anguish and the suffering. unfortunately back then i can't complain because i was just an intern.. Have you guys had some experience with overly compulsive bosses or supervisors? how did you deal with them?
