here's the other one... Fill up the 11-liter bucket, then carefully place the 6-liter bucket(lid facing up, don't tilt the 6-liter bucket), i know the water will spill out, but its ok... the water will continuously pour out until the lid of the 6-liter bucket is leveled with the lid of the 11-liter bucket. slowly, push the 6-liter bucket until it reaches the base of the 11-liter bucker. once the 6-liter bucket is filled, remove it. you have now, 6 liters of water in your 6-liter bucket and 2 liters of water in your 11-liter bucket.. that makes the of total 8 liters of water...

legends : A = 11-liter bucket ; B=6-Liter bucket Step 1: Fill "A" with water; "A" has now 11 liter of water Step 2: Pour half of "A" to "B"; "A" = 5.5 liters; "B"=5.5 liters Step 3: Fill up "B" "A" = 5.5 liters; "B"=6 liter step 4: Pour half of "B" to "A" "A" = 8.5 liters; "B" = 3 Liters Step 5: Fill up "A" "A" = 11 liters; "B" = 3 Liters step 6: Fill up "B" from "A" "A" = 8 liters; "B" = 6 Liters so finally you have EXACTLY 8 liters on your 11-liter bucket :-)

i appreaticite your logic but one trouble, you has no method to take the exact half from the bucket,so you can take the half only with an assumption.so cannot get the exact by this method,yo just try once more without thinking of taking half.

That's a tough one, especially if you don't know whether you are able to tip out exactly half or a quarterof a bucket..

not be so tough if think clearly.simply fill the six litre and pour it to 11.then agin fill 6 litr and pour i to 11 lite.so 11 on big one and 1 on 6 litre......

fill the 6L bucket 2 times and pour it into 11L bucket. there will remain 1L in 6L bucket. empty the 11L bucket and pour the 1L from 6L to 11L. now repeat the process of pouring two times 6L bucket water in 11L which already has 1L. this time, there will remain 2L in 6L bucket. empty again 11L bucket and pour 2L from 6L bucket plus another 6L into 11L bucket and you will have exactly 8L in 11L bucket. this way you will waste 22L water. this can also be done starting from 11L bucket but then you will have to waste 24L of water by emptying 6L bucket 4 times. Hope i have answered:-)

You fill a 6 litre bucket, leaving 5 liters in the large 11 litre one. Then you pour half of the 6 litre bucket into the other 6 litre bucket, leaving you now with 3 buckets: one with 5 litres and 2 smaller ones iwth 3 literes. You then pour one of the 3 litre buckets into the 5 litre one and you have 8 litres. Viola. :)

ah didn't see the two bucket part. Same solution just pour half the water out of the 6 litre bucket. ;)

you has only two buckets.and you has no other methods to calculate the half,or you cannot take exactly half from the bucket.only method is just fill the bucket or remove the whole from the bucket.so how will you take half of the 6 litre.solution will be send soon if no one find it out with in ten responds.any way thanx for your respond filmbuff.
