Most faith healers feed on emotions and really do not heal the person. You can be physced into felling better. There is a saying that being happy and laughing is the best medicine. If you feel better emotionally your body well heal faster. This has been proven in hospitals. The patients with a positive attitude well heal fairly fast. A person with the same problem with a negative attitude well heal slowly or maybe even decline in health.

This is an excellent observation you've got. The problem though is, when they claim they can cure all sorts of illnesses. In fact, I have a neighbor who claims she can perform some operations to save a life.

This is because, the faith healers ask for much less fee than the doctors and the hospitals. You must have some idea as to how much the average citizen earns and if much of this goes for medical purposes, there will be hardly any left for food. Faith healers though give some sound advices at times in terms of using herbal supplements which can be easily grown in home gardens. This is fine if they confine their curative ritual to these levels. However, most of them make their patients believe that they can perform operations and other rituals which will effect a cure to all sorts of illnesses. This is really bad, too bad in fact.
