(Former Kenytucky basketball coach) Tubby Smith gone to Minnesota to coach the Golden Gophers. What a surprise, although I understand he was being treated horribly in Lexington. Question: Who is the logical choice to take Smith's place at UK? My top choice is John Calipari of Memphis. He has the "name" value and coaching gravitas that Kentucky is looking for and has been very successful at Memphis. Plus, he is an excellent recruiter. I have heard (Louisville coach) Rick Pitino's name bandied about. I personally think it would be a big mistake for him and for UK. Other names I have heard in the discussion: Rick Barnes of Texas and Mark Few of Gonzaga.

Just stay away from Chris Lowery of the Southern Illinois Salukis! He is a winner and we'd like to keep him! (I do agree with you about Pitno)

OK you can keep him. What about Billy Donovan of Florida? (PS good run by the Salukis this year.)
