Responding to discussions..how do you do it?

Do you respond to a discussion that already has a great number of replies? What about a discussion that has already chosen a best answer? Discussions that are quite old? Do you answer discussions based on avatars or only by ratings of the poster? What is your style of responding to discussions? Please share your system.

I read the subject line and decide. If it something that I can add to, like this one, I will. If it is something that I know nothing about even if it is from a friend, I will ignore it. It doesn't matter if best has been chosen or if there is 100 responces, I will. Who knows, I might be the different one with the best advice. I won't know unless I try. I like your AV. Make me sleepy.

I don't think so, because my response may be unreadable. But sometimes if I really interested about those discussions I will response it. No matter if the discussion already choose the best answer.

well dont really think how old the discussion is, i really only reply if i got a suitable and descriptive answer that i can actually have strong thoughts about. if its about animals or people or something like that im bound to answer. or even my opinion on something as well. and well doesnt matter how many discussion replies.

Every time I respond to discussions, I go to the “Today’s Hot Topics” section first and try to reply to discussions that I find interesting. After exhausting all discussions from this section, I then check the “Today’s Top Discussions page” and try to reply to discussions from that section that interests me. I will then go to the section “Discussions my Friends started” and will try to reply to discussions from that section. I still reply to discussions even if the best response has already been chosen or even if the discussions only has few responses.

So far I only decide by what i can respond to, i mean what i have something to say about, I avoid discussions about topics that I don't understand or don't have much information or experience.. I start with my friends discussions and try to find as many good as possible discussions then I look at top discussions, hot topics and new discussions, etc. Number of responses, best response already chosen, date of discussion, member's points, avatar, etc .. all that doesn't effect me choice..

i dun normally repond to a discussion that already has a best answer coz i dun think they can have 2 best response rite? however if i feel strongly that i would like to state my point in that discussion i might just do that regardless. i usually would like to sate my point as clearly as i can. but of coz to the point of understanding. i cant stand it when ppl give crappy answers so just to gain earnings. its not fair.

I think everyone has a disdain for people who just give one liners or answers that have nothing to do with the subject at hand

I respond to questions that are interesting to me. I don't care if there are a lot or a little responses. If it's an interesting discussion those are the type i like to answer. To be honest unless I am answering one from one of my friends i really don't look at the person's name their avatar or how many posts they have.

that is one way to do it, read through all responses first, I assume to make sure you aren't duplicating someone's answer.

It does not matter whether the discussions have great numbers of replies because it just means that many people are interested in it, and it is the real meaning of discussion which many people can express their ideas to same topic. As long as I am interested in the topic, I will still reply to it even the best response has been choosen because I reply to discussion for rxpressing my view not for best response only. Sometimes old discussion may be good, but it may be forgotten by many members. The avatars are not important as what entice me to reply is the quality of discussion, and I will try to respond with I know as much as possible.

I have my principle in responding discussions. First, I used to scan today's hot topics and find those interest me. Then, I'll read the other responses firstly, meaning to share their view. And at last, I state my own view. I don't really care whether a topic has already a great number of replies, that does not matter. And whether a best answer has been chosen or not is also out of my care. But usually, I do not respond to quite old discussions, coz someone in mylot started a topic to discuss whether we'll be paid for responding quite old topics. I'm not clear about it. So I prefer to respond to intraday discussions.

I only respond to a discussion if I liked the topic and feel like responding to it.I don't care whether best answer has already been selected, avatars,no of replies, star number , etc. These things don't matter to me.

I just read the topic and if its something that interests me and I think I can add something to it, then I'll answer. Doesnt matter how many responses it has or how old it is or anything..I just answer what I like.

Yes drill sergent, no drill sergent. Dont you ever say to him or her yes sir or yes ma'm because the ds is going to remind you in no good attitude that he or she works for a living. You can salute the officers as yes sir or yes ma'am, but no the ds's.

I'm responding to every discussion that I feel that I have something to say about it. It doesn't matter if that discussion has alraedy has a lot of responses, or if there is already a member who marked as "best response". More quality and long responses means more money :)

I don't look at the ratings of the poster. I don't go by their avatar.I go by the subject of the discussion.Usually the discussion is under one of my interests. But some are discussions that I can respond to. I may have done the same thing or saw the same movie or I have an idea that may help.

When responding to discussions, I check my friends' discussions first. After I answer to the topics that interest me, I go randomly to hot topics, new discussions, discussions with no responses, and so on. I reply regardless if the topic has 100 responses or if the user has already selected a best response.
