Well, i am totally confused. Which one should I prefer? There are so many Linux versions available that I can't decide it easily. You may have some experience over some versions of Linux, please share your experience with it so that I can decide on which one should I choose instead of Windows XP or Vista for my new PC..........

A good choice would be Opensuse 10.2 (www.opensuse.org). It is much easier to configure and use. A very good OS. You wont find it much difficult to use. But before beginning I think it would be better for you to get someones help to get used to it. Another good OS is freespire (www.freespire.org) for newbies. You don't need to do any configuration to start using it. Not only that the installation CD is also a Live CD. So you can try Linux without installing it.

I would suggest that you try fedora core or maybe mandriva, bothare good for beginners.
