Struggle in the Male Environment

I am the only girl in my workplace but somehow I enjoy the company of my male co-workers. They help me when I need so, but there are times when they make fun of me and tease me and stuffs. I'm a sensitive kind of girl, but I know how to keep my feelings. I never show them if I'm feeling mad or irritated. I just smile as if everything's okay.
Now I'd like to know, especially from the male perspective, why they make fun of girls. And are they insensitive enough to not consider the feelings of a girl like me?

There are few women were I work as well, but i do not see them getting made fun of like you do, I think that is horriable and you should tell someone about it. This sort of thing should not be aloud to happen.
