I was diagnosed with menieres back in early 12/06 I am currently taken meclizine and am off work until 02/05/07. The meclizine has been a great help but I am going to really start watching my sodium and loose some weight. I am hoping this will help?

Tracy, I'm so sorry no one responded to you! I just joined today and, yes, I am a fellow menierian. The number one way I cope is http://menieres.org/There are so many people there that know, and understand, and CARE! Just knowing that I wasn't insane saved my life. There are also tons of recipes for low-sodium or even no-so meals. The second way I cope personally is to manage my diet. For the first year at least that was hard. Now I rattle off the sodium content of entire grocery stores without having to check. Just staying on a low-sodium diet isn't enough for many patients, though. Thirdly, I kept a journal ONLY for menieres for about a year. I didn't want my "real" journal to be nothing but symptoms and sadness so I kept it apart. Now I can go back and see what my triggers were, what my environment was, and what helped - without any of that information marring the record of my life! Finally, if you're still a user here and get this, feel free to message me and get my personal email address. Having a buddy makes it a lot more tolerable, especially on those bad days!
