What, How and Where Compiler????

Hi friends, I'm new to computer programming. But somehow learnt C programming. Someone told me that I need to type the program and execute it in something called a 'compiler'. My problem is i dont have any compiler sort of thing. May anyone of you give me a link from where i can download a simple and best free compiler..

I always install Borland Complier
I am not a novic in C++ and I run a complier using Notepad, and the Command prompt, I create the*.cfg in the bin folder,save a file called CPPFiles.
then in the cmd the files exist I run the executable file by using bcc32.
I hope it will be apperciated.
