Give up coffee?

Would you give up your coffee for a caffeinated donut or bagel? Are you a diehard coffee fan that drinks it for the taste or do you want that jolt of energy every day? I drink coffee about three cups a week because I like the taste. I regulate my caffeine intake very closely due to a heart rate issue that I have. A man is working on creating a caffeinated flour to make bagels and donuts for those who want to have that pick-me-up but what it in something other than a sugary energy drink or a cup of coffee. Would you give up your coffee or switch to decaf for a caffeinated bagel or donut? Check out the article and let me know. http://dsc.discovery.com/news/2007/01/29/caffeinedonut_hum.html?category=human&guid=20070129104500

I have had to give up coffee for different reasons & for different times over the years. I found that when I was going off it, I would wean myself on 3/4 coffee & then 1/4 decaf and then work it up & up until I was all decaf. I would also switch to hot chocolate on cold days. OR English Breakfast tea. And now to just herb tea & coffee on those sleepy mornings where I couldn't sleep for whatever reason. SO for me, its the hot beverage in the morning vs. the coffee itself. I'm not sure if I would eat a caffeine buzzed donut although it would be good for that mid-afternoon flop time between lunch & supper

I would not give up coffee for a caffeinated anything, because I like the taste of coffee and therefore it can't be replaced by something solid. For me it doesn't matter how much caffeine is actually in the coffee it's all about the taste and that means someone could come out with a caffeinated cheese cake and I would still drink my coffee throughout the day.

As much as possible, I don't drink coffee because I have high blood pressure or hypertension. But if that's the only drink available, I do drink coffee with cream, a little amount of sugar as I have indications of diabetes, and of course, I like it hot.

i really love coffee,i am italian, but i would like to specify better this love: i love the espresso coffee or with just a little milk, i don't consider coffee the long coffee added with a lot of hot water, the energy is necessary in particular in the morning to wake me up, but is important also the taste and the smell of the coffee

I don't drink coffee, tea, or colas for the caffine so it wouldn't do me justice. I drink it for the taste. Decaf works just fine on me. If it tastes good to me I drink it (caffeine wise). I like the taste of decaf coffee. I like the taste of decaf tea and cola so...the bagel thingy, just wouldn't do for the caffeine...now maybe the taste. I like bagels.
