Would you be too honest to tell that your father has a terminal CANCER too soon?

My father passed away a few years ago of Cancer. And I believe if my aunt did not meddle with us he should have stayed a little longer. You know, he became depressed when he learned that he has a terminal cancer and that's because my aunt told him at the wrong time. He was looking forward to regain his health but when she said it, all things turned around. He withdraws too soon. If you will be given a situation like this, Will you tell your father about it too soon? or will you wait for a little while until things become more clearer to the patient? What do you think is the best thing to do?

i will still say to him but i will wait for the right timing. My mom has a cancer too , stage III-B and she knew it. That gave her more courage to fight and now she's a survivor. You know, sometimes it helps but sometimes it doesn't. It really depends on the attitude of the sick person.
