Hot oil treatment on a saloon or by yourself at home?

I used to have my hot oil treatment at a saloon here in the city, and I do it like once a month.. :P It was still good though but the beautician in that saloon told me that it would somehow save me some pennies if I'll just buy some good hot oil then apply them unto my hair myself. And besides, I can do it as often as once a week giving my hair a more glossy and shiny look at a much cheaper way... :P
So did I... and am thankful to her suggestion..now I seldom visit the saloon for hot oil treatment as I know now how to do it myself... lol
how about you, how do you have your hot oil treatment done? at a saloon or by yourself at home? what hot oil treatments do you use? how often do you have hot oil treatment?

Well I have never used hot oil treatments for my hair but it sounds like this is what I need though as my hair is a bit limp and dull at the moment. Thank you for your information as now I know exactly what my hair needs to have more glow and glossy look.

When I go to have a haircut ,I do get an oil treatment.It's
almost a routine for me ,but I give it a miss when I am short on time.The person who does it for me knows the pressure points in the neck and massages my neck while oiling my hair and scalp.I feel more relaxed once I have it done.

yeah, I have to agree with you bluewings..there's somehow a noticeable difference when an expert applies the oil on your hair compared to just us doing it to ourselves.. :P

I have used VO5 Hot Oil treatmens and have been happy with them. Come to think about it, I need to do it again since my hari is getting dry and brittle again.

Never had one. Too young and too little to have one though i've oil treatment on my hair by my mom sometimes. I enjoy it

Hot oil treatment by myself at home. There are hot oil creams that we can buy on a stall on a mall , so i buy one and look for the instruction, and i do it myself at home.

A good stylist is a wonderful thing to find, but I haven't found one in years. I gave up after about the fifth time a stylist butchered my hair. Now I cut and color myself, and I'm very happy with it. Well hairs add a appeal to an individual personality.

i will do hot oil treatment in house only and i like home made hot oil treatments only.
i will go for natural oils like olive oil, jasmine oil, jojoba oil. we can use mayonaise also for hot oil treatment.
i will heat any one of the above oils and apply to hair by massaging and leave it for 15 minutes and then rinse.
so i will for that hot oil treatments once in a week or monthly once.
