What Would You Do If I Slit Your Mother's Throat Right Now?

This is the question I remember a neighbor/friend asking my sisters and I when we were very little kids? I don't remember how we responded, but we did not say much. I dont remember how my mother responded, but the lady did not leave after that, so I assume it was not, get the hell out my house. My mother was a door mat and a scary cat. She was a beautiful, humble, and loving ordained minister, but for the life of me, I can't understand how she stood the pain. She also had a mental illness, and she was the sweetest most giving woman I have ever known. To me, she was an angel. After her funeral, strangers were telling me that she was in heaven, not to comfort me or reassure me, after hearing people speak of my mother, you knew for sure. She was my unsung hero. If I could be one third of the woman my mother was, I would be a really good person. But, I think a lot of my anger comes from watching my mother be taken advantage of by almost everyone. Her own sisters would borrow money and never give it back. My mother loved no matter what. She loved the Lord with everything she had and was. She definately had major depression, because she would watch the news and just cry. She would read the obituary and drag us off to funerals. Or my personal favorite was when she would cut out a sad/tragic story and preserve it in a photo album. There was a picture of her best friend in her casket, in our family album. We were not only poor, we put the poor in dirt poor. We live in the projects, as my mother was not able to work, even though she was a college graduate. Aside, from her mental illness, she had been sick from as far back as I could remember, but my mother was a praying woman and we never went without. I remember one day, we had no food in the house and we were all praying and this couple brought over all these groceries. We had bags and bags of food, from a grocery store not far away. I don't know if my mother called them or they just showed up or even how close they were to my mother. I don't remember if I had ever seen them before or if I ever saw them again, but they made a miracle happen that day. I will forever thank God for proving himself to me that day. My mother also prayed all the time for her family. Thank God for a God fearing mother.

I feel in my spirit that the same light that dwelt in your mother, dwells within you. There is but one God and just as she knew Him, you too are cherished by the Father. We all sometimes are used and hurt by people, but we must continue to give and love as Jesus did. She is your angel now, she watches proudly over you as you follow after Christ. Bless you my sister.

Your mother sounds like she was a sweet women. You talk good things about her.
