Hello! I am a 23 year old married woman. My husband is leaving in 2 weeks to go to Montana to work. He will be gone for 2 months. I am not sure how I am going to deal with him being gone so long. The longest I have been away from him is 1 week & I was a total basket case. He is the only person on this earth that I feel comfortable telling my most intimate thoughts & concerns with. I am hoping that other wives of hubbys that work away can give me some encouragment & advice. PLEASE????

My hubby used to work away from time to time. The longest was about 3 months. It almost drove me to insanity. But I manage to pull through. I did a lot of stuffs like attending new courses, doing stuffs with my girlfriends and I even visited him every once in a month..... Other than that, we'd communicate on a daily basis by phone messaging, e-mailing, video conferencing and even phone calls. Just keep yourself busy.... Do stuffs that you want to do which you have not find time to do yet.. That had worked for me...:

Thanks, its nice to know that I'm not alone. I know it is going to be tough for both of us, but I will just have to find other things to occupy my time.

Well my husband is a truck driver who is gone all week long. I don't have to deal with him being gone for 2 months but you will make it, I am sure. I understand you will miss him terribly, but you have to remember that he is doing this for work and that it will not be forever. I have a sister who had her husband go to war in Iraq...and it was very stressful on all of us, so be thankful that at least he isn't at war and in a dangerous situation like that. Just stay in touch with him as much as you can through emails, chatting and phone calls and I am sure it will all be over before you know it. & he will be back home. I wish you the best of luck!! God Bless

Thank you. You really put it in perspective for me. I am so glad that he isn't going to war. There are women out there who have to deal with their husbands being away for a year or longer, & being in a dangerous place. My husband works construction, so there is an issue of safety, but no like going to war.
