Weight Watchers for Cats?

I have an adorable cat 11 years old. She is a good cuddle kitty, unfortunately she is a little of the tubby side. She is not grossly overweight, but I would like her to lose a little bit to keep her healthly. My question is what is the best way to get a inside cat to lose some weight?

You can still exercise an indoor cat. This depends on your level of exercise to. You can play chase with her (I chase mine up and down the stairs). Or you can wrestle or play fight if they like that. Or if you want something more sedentary for you, see if they will chase a flashlight protected on the wall or floor or a toy on a stick. That way you can sit while they play. Don't over do it for the 11 year old, but sometimes just getting her moving is all she needs.

Cool, I had wondered just how much exercise I could give her. Of course, my boyfriend will tell me 'I told you so', about chasing her around the apartment being good for her. Thank you for comments they will help my baby.

And it's good for you too. My mother will sometimes call and be like 'you sound all out of breath'. Well, yeah, that's because I've been chasing the cat!

try to find some wind up toys or toys that move and maybe she will chase them. my dog is very overweight as she does not get exercise. i changed her dog food to an all natural dry food and it seemed to help her slim down alittle.
