Has your child(ren) ever done something that took you by surprise?

Yesterday I was really sick, so my 4 year old decided that he would make breakfast for himself and his 20 month old brother while I laid on the couch and got some rest. I still had to help him but the thought of him being so thoughtful was enough to bring tears to my eyes.

It is amazing what kids will do when we least expect it. I broke my big toe a few years back & my teenage son was so helpful to me it was almost scary & when he got his little sister to pitch -in and help clean the house, I nearly fainted, Those 2 are usually bickering so much it gives me a headache. It seems as if they can't even agree on what color the sky is! When they pulled together & took care of me & the house while dad was at work, it made me feel so good. As soon as I was back on my feet, they were right back to their old selves to. Kids are a great thing.
