General discussion catagory?

I've always (well, for the one week I've been here), posted my questions and discussions under catagories or interests, but I see many people that don't.
Why is this? And does a general question pop up on any certain page, like the interest discussions do in the respective interests? Just wondering. Thanks all.

Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. I usually post people, or Mylot.com I feel you will get more people to answer your topics. I also when I am discussion about food I use that search.

down at the bottom of your interest page is a general discussion tab
I put things in general discussion because I only put things in proper catagories. I don't have stupid generalized catagoroes like "Life" and "People" those aren't interests, they are too generalized & should be deleted.

Good point. Haven't really looked at catagories like those as stupid before. I guess you do have a point, but isn't myLot a place ruled by the majority? Wouldn't that make those catagories OK since a huge chunk of people like them?
