I am registered but I don't feel the need for voting, you see, we have no choice in the candidates of the upcoming elections. It seems to me that all of them are corrupt and all they think about is them selves and less thinking for their country. Ok, its no use to cry over spilled milk, we live in a pig sty, we don't have a choice, we can make better out of our selves, be honest if they cannot be honest in serving the country. I have made a discussion in a chat room regarding this matter, I made a comment that I'll be voting for the sake of voting but I will submit a blank ballot. They told me not too empty my vote because I need to make a choice. People we need to make a stand and we are the one responsible for our country's future.

I agree that MOST of the candidates are corrupt. But lets not just lokk at the bad side, how about the things that others have done. I dont want to mention names of some candidates who i think did really something for the countery since it's like im campaigning for them, and besides i want you to discover it for yourself (try to read newspapers or any magazines that features any of the candidate's biography). Not voting will not help. It's like your just watching the country be in the hands of unworthy senators or irresponsible president.

Hahaha, funny it is, there are lots of days last year but then I haven't even manage to go in our cityhall for registration. And when the last day came, that was the only time that we went to the registration area. But then there are lots of people on the registration, but not all have accomplished, and I am one. And so, in short, I am not registered. Somehow, it is ok for me because I don't feel voting today. I find it hard to determine whom to vote for they all have convincing words, but then I look for assurance...

Don't be offended but i think you should always read the newspaper or watch the news to keep you posted about the people in politics. So that in the next election, you would know who are the people who deserves your vote. =)

not yet!! and i dont like to vote...political today is so dirty!!!ya!!its a dirty game..
• Philippines
30 Mar 07
if not now when? it is a responsibility of each countrymen to vote for their leader. You said politics today is dirty, when will it be clean? or maybe the right candidate who have the ability to make politics have no chance to win because there are several like you who didn't share your votes... Be responsible, vote for a responsible leader. If you doesn't find to have a good candidate, just vote. Who knows that candidate you vote for can make a change....

As i always say in this discussion, it's your right to vote! And somehow it's a sense of responsibility because the future of our country is in every filipino's hands. It's only every 6 years, every 6 years of change and chance of making our country more successful. Politics is not a dirty game, it's people who plays it.

I wasn't able to register last december, because I forgot to! I was too busy with stuffs in school. Oh well, I wouldn't vote anyway even if I had registered :P

Why will you not vote? You should vote because it's ever filipino's chance of making a difference in the country. Every vote counts.

Even if I wanted to, I can't. I'll be having a vacation on May. So I'll not be around in the country at that time. I guess I'll just wait for the next election IF I'm still around here in the Philippines! :P If they succeed in not letting me go migrate and that they can prove that Philippines is still worth living, then they can have my vote next elections :P

I see. Well enjoy your vacation anyway. It seems like your planning to work abroad. =) Goodluck. Hope you'll reach your goal. And be successful in every decision you make.

No need for me. I am already an old timer. I will exercise my right to vote this coming election. I still believe that my one vote is still significant and may somehow help win the candidates whose agenda is about the political and economic progress of the country. I hope a lot of voters are already mature in selecting the best candidate who wil not pursue his/her agenda once elected.

You're right. I hope that all filipino citizens are like you. You know your values and you're righteous as well. Keep it up. Good luck for this coming elections. Hope you vote for the right one.

im registered but i'll abstain. politics in our country still sucks for a while..i go with the parliamentary form.
• Philippines
9 Apr 07
Parliamentary? Why? You think that countries with a parliamentary form of government are more successful with counrties that practice democracy. Well i don't think so. Because whatever system we used, it's nonsense! I mean, the problem here in our country is that the people are so irresponsibly selfish. Those who are in the position abuse their power and those who are not in the position are very irresponsible to depend themselves to the so called leaders of the country. Actually, we are the ones who are to be blamed here. Because we let it happened. One vote counts. I believe that there are still politicians here who are really sincere in helping the country. We just have to know them.

i haven't because filipino politicians are all jerks
• Philippines
31 Mar 07
Do you really think so? That's a little harsh. Maybe some are jerks but not all of them. I believe that there are still politicians who are really service-oriented and not corrupt, we just have to find them and recognized who they are.

Is your birthyear 1989? Hehe I'm just asking because I'm also turning 18 in May. Anyways, obviously I'm not registered to vote because I'm still 17. But even though I'm already 18, I don't think I will want to vote. For me, it's just a waste of time because all politicians are the same. They keep making promises to the people for them to win their candidacy. - Ron Reyes www.ronreyes.co.nr

Nope. Im older than you by month. Under the year of dragon, my birthyear is 1988. Anyway, I don't think all politicians are the same.

I'm all good to go. Have been since I was legal to. It's of utmost importance. The unregistered population, if you can imagine the numbers, is probably enough to have changed every election in history if they'd come out and voted. You really ought to get going on it. I think I went through my city clerk, but really don't remember as it's been so long. Just remember, you have no room to complain about who's in office or what they're doing unless you voted.

I agree. And we should not pinpoint everything to the gobvernment. The filipinos should be responsible too. They keep on blaming the people in the government but they are not doing anything. Filipinos have abused the people power. Using it against each president.

Better try to read the newspapers or any magazines that features some of the candidates for you to have a little information about them and be able to decide who to vote. You can also search in the internet. Good luck! hope you'll vote for the right one.
