will or would and can or could

Grammarian out there, i am just quite confused when to use 'will' and when to use 'would', same to 'can' and 'could'. Do you know the rules?

1. As ordinary tenses: present(can, will) and past(could, would).
2. To ask for permission or make a request: could, would
3. For politeness: could, would
4. To express futurity(2nd/3rd person): will
5. To express ability to do: can
