Music from one decade only.....

If you had to pick music from only one decade to listen to for the rest your life, what decade would you pick. I think I would have to go with the 80's. In fact, right now I am listening to the "Flock of 80's" station on www.accuradio.com, and it's just so much fun! I love hair rock, and the pop from the 80's never fails to pick up your spirits. What about you?

I also think that I would choose the 1980s. Especially the new wave stuff. I would miss some of the current music, but a lot of new stuff that I like it kinda a throw back to 80s music anyway. Besides, nothing raises your spirits like a little "Walking on Sunshine."

Yeah...for me Billy Idol was the clincher. It's hard to feel sad while listening to "Rebel Yell"! THere are so many great Karaoke songs from the 80's too!

I'd also choose the 80s, but I'd pick that decade for a different reason. It was the birth of metal, and Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, and several other bands released some of their best stuff back then.

I don't know if I could only choose one decade! I would probably choose music from the 60's. Or maybe the 70's. lol. I just don't think I can choose between the two. Some great classic rock came from those decades.

I love classic Rock too. That made it a really hard choice for me.

I would have to say the 80's too. I listen to a lot of 80's as it is...mostly new wave and goth. But I like the pop stuff to... and even the rock and roll.

I complely agree with you. The 80s are great for all sorts of music. I love the 80s because you have the stereotypical 80s music, but you also have the beginnings of Nine Inch Nails and Metallica and lots of the metal, rock and precursors to the later music that I love. I think that I could handle listening to all my favorite "80s" music and all my favorite precursors for the rest of my life.

I think I'd choose the 70s....it was my total teenage years with tons of memories! It evokes feelings that I had during that time.

I have many favourite songs and bands from the 80s like A Flock of Seagulls, The Icicle Works, Propaganda...but I would probably pick the 70s as my true favourite with the early stuff by bands like Blondie, the Talking Heads and all the early Neil Young stuff

I was in high school in the 80's so that era of music has a place in my heart, but I'm going to definately have to say the 70's. They had so many great artists and I have most of my collection filled wth music from that time.

I would have to say either they 90's grunge alternative era or 70's classic rock. The 80's have some fun music but it's not something I can listen to all the time. But I could listen to some Stone Temple Pilots all day long.
