Why is it called Extra Virgin olive oil?

Because olive oil comes in different kinds according to how it's been pressed/mixed. Extra-virgin olive oil comes from the first pressing and has the best taste. There also can't be any added refined oil in it. Regular olive oil is a blend of virgin oil and refined virgin oil and usually lacks a strong flavour.

It's used to denote how natural the oil is.
