Is it really that bad to copy discussions?

I keep reading about MyLot users being accused of stealing discussions. But is it really fair to put the blame on them? Coz there are millions of discussions on this website and it may not be possible for new users to actually go through all the previous topic discussions. So they may invariably land up starting a similar discussion.
Ofcourse an exact copy paste of previous discussions si an outright steal which should be avoided. But other than that do you people respond to similar discussions and do you think it is that wrong to start similar discussions?

Plagiarism is definitely wrong. Someone's work is his own, especially when good time and effort has been spent putting it together.
But as you rightly pointed out, if the idea sort of coincides, well only the second person would know if he has copied. If his conscience is clear, then all's good.
The idea may be similar but if the writing - style, words and all - is the same too, then it would quite obviously be a copy.

I agree with you. I have never looked back , I get my discussions from my wife, my mais or myself .lol yes even my maid supports me for my lot. My secretary is quite dumb to help me. I ask help from her only when I'm not sure about some spellings.
It's like only 1 to 2 % of people steal rest is aall original ( this is what I think I may not be right ).
Yes I try to respond to any discussion my friend has started , I don't mind answering same question twice or thrice.

As you have said it , one should not copy from
the others discussions . But there can be similar
discussions . And we should not take the advantage
of similar discussions to simply change some
words and claim that it is our original discussion .
Mylot administarting staff are very intelligent
and they can easily find such cheatings .
