I still fear the dark and being out by myself at night

My mom was bitten by a rattlesnake when I was almost 5 and remember every detail about the experience. She was 9 months prego with my brother. I was there through the whole thing and thought she was going to die. To this day, at the sight of any snake I hypervenilate, eyes fill with tears, and shake uncontrolably. So, snakes would rank fist on my list for most feared.
