the global economy 'what does that mean to you?'

Have you been affected by the phrase "It's a global economy?" What does that really mean; I believe it means we are getting paid less money to do more work with fewer employees. That Corporations are getting rich at our expense. Today they announced that Circut City was eliminating 3400 Store Associates because of new structuring and that those associates were paid well above the market based salary. They will be replaced with new associates and compensated at the current market range. Whose market range is my first question? It appears it's a new wave hitting the country from the Auto Industry to Electronics Stores, pay workers less but nothing else changes. The fat cats still get fatter and the workers suffer. What do you think? Do you have any ideas to make it better? Maybe you don't agree that things need to change? I guess I will never know unless you respond.
