The shock demoliton of the Pakistani team by Ireland and the similar fate of the Indian team at the hand of the Bangladeshis drastically changed the equations for this world cup. Having come so far, what do you think are the chances of the Irish team? As i write now, they have England at 137/4 in 25 overs. Is it the making of another upset? If they do win, will they repeat the performance against their next opponents? Can they make it to the semis. Or will it be the end of the road for them as far as this world cup is concerned? What do you say? This is one David who is accounting for quite a few Goliath(s)

I don't think Ireland have players to consistently beat the top teams. But, they have shown that they are a force to reckon with. If they can play regularly in the next 4 years, they will certainly be one of the top teams in the next world cup. But, as far as the super eights is concerned, they may create one or two upsets to make the equations a bit more interesting. Not more than that. They won't qualify to the semis.
