Did you like working for Wal-Mart?

I have worked for Wal-Mart twice and wanted to know if you like working for them or not? I didn't mind most of the work but it was the work working with the management! That is why I was "let go" the first time and I left the 2nd. What did you think of working for them?

I worked there part-time just for some extra cash during the holidays last year. I worked in the electronics department which was alright, but when they started pulling me to get carts out of the parking lot I decided it was no longer for me. Don't get me wrong, i know it needs to be done, but when they hire people specifically for that then they need to do it and let me do my job.

I hate(d) every single moment of it. I am/was an ICS member and it bites the big one. There is no where in the job description that says unload the truck EVERY SINGLE DAY. Once in a while is fine with me but every day - heck no! So, right now, I'm in limbo on rather or not I want to take the time to fill out the L.O.A papers to keep from being fired for missing too many days. Part of me does because I don't want to leave my honey left paying the bills but the biggest portion of me is screaming - LEAVE, RUN!

I'm on a medical leave of absence right now because of a weird situation although I do have a medical situation. Anyway, I work in grocery receiving and I hate it. I am pretty much there against my will too. I was full-time in Lawn and Garden and they ended up moving out the temps and three permanents (me being one of them). One of the permanents was a lawn and garden associate for 10 years and moved against her will. When they moved me they said overnights was the only way to keep my full-time status. Well, I found out otherwise. They just needed someone for overnights and pulled out that big lie. They also lied about cutting hours. They told everyone it wasn't happening, but when the new schedule just came out there were full-time people with only 6 and 8 hours.

Yeah, they suck at coming up with some big whopping lies. I ended up quiting and have never felt better. However, just because of I need money - i may go talk to the only co-manager I like about working strictly part-time 11am to 4 or 5 PM because that would be the only way I'd have a way to work. If he says no, then they can suck the spot in my booty. :)

I have worked on construction sites for most of my adult life. I found some very poorly run sites in that time. None, though, compare to the utter lack of common sense I found working for a Wal-Mart store. It seems that they take common sense and throw it out the door from the very start of each day.

I worked there part time as a 2nd job for about 6 months. I didn't mind the work, the customers and most of the people I worked with. However, management always liked to hassle me about things. I quit when I got pregnant and could no longer work 16 hour days, and one manager tried telling me how it was so important for me to finish the month I was on the schedule for, because so many people depended on me. Bull. It was spring, they had plenty of people there, and barely any shoppers. I had my baby to depend on me, and I couldn't very well work while running to the bathroom every 10 minutes...

haven't worked there but "let go" sounds so nice maybe I should go back to work so when they say I'm "let go" I can celebrate then let go = free , right?

Well, I'm a human being, and so was not particularly amused by being under their employ. I think it might have had to do with the fact the customers never showered, never spoke coherently, or were never brought up by humans to be socialized for real-life situations with other human beings.
