wonders of the world . who has the power to select it and on what basis?

all that v know is the existence of the wonders of the world, but ave ever thought who or type of people are given the authority to tag a building or a structure as the wonder of the world and also on what basis do they do it ...?
would the number of wonders ever increase in the coming future? if yes then which structures do u think will it be?
what is your take on this subject?

The UNESCO, an agency attached to the United Nations has the power to look into this heritage and choose which one should be included into the 7 wonders of the world. the selection is done by their experts on the matter and they got guidelines. If the 7 wonders of the world is choosen by voting, China and India will win them all because they have so many people, billion of people. And that is not right and fair to a country with lesser people but with a very good place too.

i think that we, people, vote for it like for the new 7 wonders of the world... there are actually a lot of 7 wonders in different uhm, lets call it fields like the 7 wonders of the ancient worlds, 7 wonders of the medieval mind, 7 natural wonders of the world, 7 underwater wonders of the world, 7 wonders of the modern world, 7 forgotten natural wonders of the world, 7 forgotten wonders of the medieval mind, and all the forgotten wonders...
