PARENT VS PEER

can't count the times I've seen parents -- black, white, Hispanic, Asian or other -- who let their children run THEM instead of the other way around. It doesn't matter if the child is 3 or 13. I see kids rudely talking back, demanding what they want or what they will not accept, CURSING their parents out... I see parents not only accepting this atrocious behavior, but ENCOURAGING it making excuses for their kids if there are witnesses, getting the kids whatever it is they demanded, and sometimes LAUGHING when their kids curse because they think it's cute! There are too many parents out there more concerned about being the child's FRIEND instead of being a PARENT. Or did conception make them lose part of their brains?

I don't think it is so much trying to be a friend and not a parent. But alot of parents curse around there children and then feel like a hypocrite if they discipline them for copying them. I know I never understood that as a child but I do now. You have to be a hypocrite sometimes.
