can you deliver a baby?

if you were in an emergency situation and you had to deliver a baby, could you?

I guess I would feel more confident if I could have a phone and talk to a paramedic at the time LOL!! One of my friends had her baby on the floor of a public toilet. She was only in labour for 4 minutes and it was all over.

I don't think I would manage to do it. But if I were the only one what could I do? I would have to guess and do like people do in the movies.

yeah.. hahaha! i don't know anyone about to give birth, so i don't think i would be caught in the situation.. but just in case, i would need to try and look for movies who have these type of scenes.. have you seen "apocalypto"? what a way to give birth! well, thanks for the reply!

I suppose you'd just have to get on with it really! I've done first aid and had a baby although I don't know if I'd want to perform an emergency C-sectio in the back of a crushed car but who knows if it had to be done...

yeah, sometimes when the situation calls for it.. we would need to do things.. sometimes we think we can't. thanks for the response!

I would like to say that I would be able to but I don't know. I am thinking about getting into midwifery and then I know I could. I would definately try to help the best I could.

i guess, that's we could really do sometimes.. help as much as we can and hope it's enough. it would really be exciting to take part on giving life to someone.. thanks for your response!
