NOT in any way fit for your discussion topic? Or say you get 1 liner responses such as "no i dont know" or "I think so" ? Have you experienced this on mylot? If you encounter such, especially the one liner ones, what do you do about it? do you rate it (-) negatively or you immediately report abuse or you just let it be?

It all depends on the question that I ask. I usually don't ask a yes or no kind of question so if I get one of those as an answer I will rate negative because they are more then likely just doing it to get the post. I enjoy getting answers to my posts, but not one or two word answers, those are a big pet peeve of mine here on MyLot.

I get pretty annoyed about it actually. I spend a lot of time and thought on the discussions I start, and if someone isn't willing to do the same I'd rather they don't respond. I won't always rate one-liners badly if they are well-written and interesting, because sometimes one line can really say enough to add to a discussion. But if someone leaves a yes, no, or I don't know on my discussion without any explanation, they will get a - rating. Am I mean or what? If someone posts one of those posts that's completely off topic, I either ignore it or respond to it restating my original question and asking how it applies. Once I did find that one person completely misinterpreted my original post, and I'm glad I didn't rate them negatively right away, because once they understood they wrote a response that was great.

The responses that are spam and dont have anything to do with the topic i do rate it (-) because they are just spamming to up there points. The one liner i dont rate (-) cause sometimes they are good answers and dont have to go any further.

I get this often and don't do anything about it . I don't bother to rate them a negative as I don't want to be rude and I am not sure if we are supposed to so I just didn't do that . I was doing it at the beginning though . The rated someone with a negative when they were really rude though to a question I asked . I do consider it abuse though as it is not right when we take the time to answer a question properly and they don't but I also don't think they get paid for answers such as these and believe that is why we see so many people on here complaining that there point value went down . I have never noticed mine going down but also always try to answer to the best of my ability .

I wouldn't report it as abuse honey - If it has nothing at all to do with the subject then I just ignore it! I wouldn't get too upset or take it personally - just enjoy the proper responses that you receive!

i just let it be. no matter how i'm not satisfied with their answer, they still took time and effort to answer and that means a lot in itself. maybe they don't really know. it also means something to our discussion. a simple no may be a lot.
