Do you cover your child up?

My son always kicks off his blankets at night and I get worried that he will be too cold. However, if I cover him up again, he will wake up and start to cry. So, I usually just put him in very warm pjs and try not to worry. What do you do?

my son did that too. he just never liked anything on his feet. he did not like to footy sleepers either. I put socks on him his tee shirt long armed and little night pants. then I put the cover over everything put his neck/head, arms and his ankle /feet. I was up and down checking first child did not know how to act.. that worked for him...

My son hates footy sleepers, too. He will usually tolerate socks, so I put him to bed with those on, but his hands are so chilly in the morning! I guess if he is asleep, he´s ok, since I wake up if I get too cold.

ive read where its actually better not cover up babies less risk of sids...i just used blanket sleepers and made sure the room was sufficently warm....

both my boys always slept in the sleeping gowns. They are pajama like, but the feet are in a type of "bag" They never tolerated socks or feeties. With the gowns they still felt as if their feet were free. They also have them available with mittens sewn on. The mitten part is easily folded back if baby like to suck his thumb, etc.

Oh this is quite normal, kids do that. Infact my baby just doesnt allow me to cover him up. So yes i do make him wear clothes which would keep him warm. Infact if I am sleeping close to him, I realize that he is actually quite warm and even I feel his body heat , may be they are that way. So being precautious we can only take care that whatever they are sleeping in has to be warm, something in full-sleeves and heat restoring stuff.

I bought a heap of infant sleeping bags for my daughter, they are like a sleeping bag but they have arms - you dress them in their PJ's & put them in the sleeping bag which works like normal blankets only they cant be kicked off! It works for us & my daughter is a big wriggler when sleeping - i recommend these 100%!

my son does the same thing. it drives me crazy because, like you, if i go in to cover him up, he feels it and wakes up. i have no idea how he (or all babies) can be that sensitive to touch while they sleep! anyway, we had bought this thing that looked like a fleece bag with armholes, and a zipper in the front. it was called a "halo bag", and we would put him in his pajamas, and then put his "bag" on. i am sure that kept him warm at night. then he started waking up in the middle of the night crying and we couldnt understand why. i mean, we still dont know why he did that, but we took a few guesses and went with that. one of our guesses was that he would get rolled up in the bag and wasnt able to stretch his legs the way he wanted to. so we stopped putting him in it to sleep. there were a few other things we changed, but he did stop waking up at night. he is a mover, and i wonder if thats what was causing it. it made sense. now we just put him in sweatpants and a sweater at night. that seems to be working just fine. i would think that if he is cold, he would be waking up at night.

My girls were the same way. I just made sure they had on the right type of jammies for the season. In the winter they wear fleece blanket sleepers, and in the summer, more lightweight cotton jammies. I always figured that if they got cold they would wake me up to let me know in some way. I know I wake up if I get cold....why would they be different?
