What is attactive about the instituition of marriage?

Despite high divorce rates, abusive spouses, horror stories about being married to the wrong person and in laws from hell, it seems that people still continue to want to get married. Hence, there must be something attactive about being committed to the same person.
What do you think is attactive about being married? What factors continue to drive people to get married? Please share your opinions. Thanks.

i like being married but i have to say i never got married in a church or registry office i think being married is nice because it means something more than just being someones girl or living with them Also a guy takes you more seriously if he feels hes married and does more for you and i think both make more of an effort

Well, marriage for me is not a simple responsibility because marriage is sacred and it needs patients to the both of you, so that your marriage life will not end into separation or divorced..I want to be married, of course, coz i wanted to have my own family, to have kids of my own. I think people really wanted to be married because they wanted to be their special one for the rest of their lives. And also they wanted to share their dreams and hopes to their partners..
