Best responses?

Sometimes I cannot decide which is the best response because they are all so good! A lot of different people will write well-thought-out responses and I just want to make them all a best response, and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, so I just don't put a best response at all! How do you decide?

unfortunately, we can only choose 1 best response for every discussion we started. :) it is really a dillema at times... especially when you have several really great responses received from other mylotters. what i do is i leave it like a day or two... sometimes a week. over the days you can get enlightened based on the responses you received. whichever holds true, consistent, relevant and useful... deserves my best response. i also usually look for something that was worded simply, easy to understand, like a conversation-type of responses with a human element on it... not just electronically generated words. but even if i can only give one best response, everybody else will get a positive rating or a sub comment at least. :)

When we have very good mylot responders who take trouble in giving good response and to elevate the problem for us to choose the best respond among the best is truly a dilemma to any one of us. I have to option that I practice: I adopt the elimination method and eventually come to an anser after much debate within me. I also try not to waste to much time in this option. If there are two responses that are outstanding, e.g. A & B. If this time I choose A the next time I will give it to B

Oh AngelNicki you are so kind and sweet. I just wanted a teacher like you in my childhood who would have given me 100 marks all the time in all the subjects. (humor please) I understand the situation you face sometimes in your discussions while marking the best response award to the responding users but being an examiner you have to select one out of many. You should use your vito for this and give an opportunity of your favour to a "NEWUSER" in such cases. The newuser would be needing this badly. Are you getting my point? All the best from oarnamav.

I just try to pick the one that either answers the question best, makes the strongest point, or in some cases just makes the most sense.

Oh Nicki, you've gotta choose a best response! People's feelings are transient, but good insightful writing should be rewarded (cause it sure as heck isn't by the pennies per day we get here!)
