WASHINGTON A veteran of the Iraq war says if President Bush vetoes a war-spending bill because it includes a withdrawal deadline, he'll be undermining the troops Speaking in the Democrats' weekly radio address, retired Marine Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Horne says "both houses of Congress have done their jobs" by passing bills that provide funding along with requirements to at least begin a withdrawal. He says a veto would show Bush "doesn't want to formally demonstrate progress in Iraq." Horne ran unsuccessfully for a Kentucky congressional seat last year. If Bush does veto a final bill, Horne is calling on Congress to -- quote -- "side with the troops and override it."
