Is it right to forgive people ?

Do you think its right to forgive people ?
I have reasons for doing so and for not doing it .
Advantages :
1. You feel really good to forgive someone .
2. It is considered kind to forgive someone .
3. You might end up creating a new friend who would thank you for your tolerance .
Disadvantages :
1. The person can hurt you again if he goes unpunished the
first time .
2. You might feel belittled .
What is your opinion ?

a big YES for that one! in the bible, Jesus said that we must forgive 777 x 7 times. any religions, same faith, we must really forgive in order to move on with our life. we can't be happy if there is something bad inside your heart. it will keep on haunting you until your last breath.

I feel it is right to forgive people. The three advantages you listed easily over come the first disadvantage. As to the second disadvantage, I am too egoistic to feel belittled

I think it is right to forgivew people.
You know,everybody does wrong sometimes. If you do not forgive her/him, you may hurt her/him, espencially children. I remember somebody ever said: somebody hit my right face, i will face my left face to him/her.
So forgive people when they do wrong.
