A player or an audience, which one do you tend to be?

A few months ago, I was invited to a small party near the seashore and planed to go out for a walk along the coastline before sunset, as the weather was changing, the wind was picking up, the dark cloud looming, the hosts had changed their minds and said, "We'd like to stay inside and watch TV." However, a guest (an old man) and I (a young man) would like to go out. As the wind was chilling to our bones and the rain lashing our faces, he still kept his high spirit and said, "I would rather do something than watch TV to see the world go by."Somehow, his casual words stuck in my mind. The old guy was really putting his finger on one of today's key issues. You see ... a soccer game, 22 players vs. million fans a movie, a few actors vs. million viewers a concert, a few singers vs. million followers
