PEOPLE who live in the city : they go to theatres, visit museums and galleries; shop at big department stores; spend time in night clubs; drink fresh whiskey; --- activities that reflect culture and sophistication ! PEOPLE who live in the country : they have trees, flowers, good food, clean air, honest friends ----- still viewed as illiterate, unsophisticated, politically backward! RESULTS drift of population from the farms to the towns, from towns to the big cities !!!!!

It's funny but it's all part of being human. people tend to look for the things that they don't sometimes taking for granted the things that they have

Yes, when I lived close to a historical city I loved going to the theatre, museums and art galleries. It had a very large student population and so reflected culture and sophistication. I had the best of both world then: I lived in a village and yet I was only three miles from the historical city. Shopping was excellent and I suppose I took all this for granted. Then I moved to a house on the edge of a coastal town. The upstairs has country views. It is nice living here as the countryside is on my doorstep. But I don't find the coastal town has much culture or sophistication. I have a large city about half an hour away but all the attractions in it are very spread out. I miss the historical city I was telling you about but most of all I enjoy walking in the countryside. I like to see the fresh green fields, blue gently running river and puffy white clouds.
