My sister's daughter's father killed her son's father and got out of jail!!!

My siser was visiting her daughter's father with her new baby last year. Her son's father came by his house to ask house about a shirt with their son in the car. The daughter's father politely got a machine gun and blew him out of his sneakers( in front of his son with whom he was very close with.) Because the boy's father was on the porch he only did 4 months in jail. We miss him tremendously. He didn't even get the 2 year minimum for that illegal war weapon. What's up with that? Where is the justice?
