Both of my sons birthdays are in July. I need some ideas. The last couple of years, I waited til the last minute and couldn't pull things together right. The baby will turn one early July and my oldest will be 11, the end of July. The 11 year old tries to act like he's a teenager already. He's the hardest to decide on. Any suggestions?

With your 1 year old...choose what theme you want, Peter Pan, Barney, etc. Usually first bday's are special. With your 11 year old, probably you can get/borrow him some computer games for him and his friends to play in your house. That will be hard to resist then if they get hungry...you can serve burgers or hotdogs, drinks and finally the cake. Or you can get several disposable cameras for him and his friends and they can take pictures of them all they want. Cameras offer lots of fun too and he will have lots of memories on his 11 bday.

Thanks for the comments. I like the idea of the cameras. I think they'd enjoy that. The little guy hasn't shown a favorite show or anything yet, but I'm sure he will here before his Bday.

Maybe the 11 year old might just want to choose a movie and have a bunch of his friends over. Make them some snacks, and then LEAVE (not the house, just the room!) and let them do their own thing. Then serve cake and ice cream later on.

Yea, he probbaly won't want the family hanging around. Let him has his fun then do the birthday stuff later. Good Idea.
