The Preamble of the Constitution of India states, "We, the people of India, having solemlnly resolved to constitute India into a Sovereign Socialist Secular Democratic republic and to secure to all its citizens: JUSTICE, social, economic and politcal; LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship; EQUALITY of status and of opportunity; and to promote among them all FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and intergrity of the Nation; .............". Politicians always cry for SOCIAL JUSTICE (read VOTE BANK POLITICS) and in that name, now gun for quota for OBCs in addition to the already existing quota for SC/ST in Educational Institutions and Government Services. Now, my humble question to all concerned is that whether they failed to see what comes next to Social Justice in the Preamble - that is Economic Justice! Well, this Social Justice that started for the first 10 years after Independence got extended for so many decades and it is still continuing. Atleast now, they can go to next one in the Preamble - that is ECONOMIC JUSTICE! Why they are wary of doing that. The reason is very simple. VOTE BANK POLITICS! Even in SOCIAL JUSTICE they are not prepared to remove the CREAMY LAYER! What are these POLITICIANS upto? Are they trying to hoodwink the public? They always feel that there is no need to fool all the people all the time, but once in 5 years is more than sufficient (ie. during elections). Now, the Supreme Court has brought a virtual stay on the implementation of 27% reservation for OBCs by asking the Government to present the latest statistics on OBCs and refused to accept 1931 data. The action is perfectly OK and logical. If we were to accept the 1931 data for this purpose, then why not disburse salary to Government Staff based on the cost of living index of 1931 data. Will the Government do that? Supposing even if the Govt. does (!) it through some Ordinance (of late, the Govt. resorts to this short cut way very often), will the public (Govt. Staff) remain silent? Now, the Govt. is thinking of refering this OBC Quota case to a larger Bench in the Supreme Court. What kind of a Drama the Govt. and these politicians are enacting? When the verdict is not in their favour, they lose faith even in the highest Judicial Body - the Supreme Court and go for a larger Bench. So, they are hell bent on getting what they want - by crushing the REAL MINORITY of TODAY - the voiceless, highly subdued and docile, yet highly talented and deserving FORWARD CLASS brethen of India. Today, political class is dominated by other than Forward Class people and this clan, with sweeping legislative/ executive powers, is trying to re-write the rules of the game for their own benefits. To say the least, this is pure ANARCHISM! Oh! God! SAVE INDIA! Let the term "EQUALITY" enshrined in the Preamble be prevalent in this Great Country called India in the truest sense. The whole nation is watching JUDICIARY and we are confident that this pillar of DEMOCRACY alone will support the Nation from crumbling with its unbiased and just verdict on this Quota Issue as the other pillars (EXECUTIVE and LEGISLATURE) have lost their inherent stregth.
