i have 2 ferrets that dont like taking baths. well, they actually dont like water at all for that matter. i am curious if there is an alternative to actually putting them in the water. like a chinchilla dust bath type of thing. also how often do they need to be bathed and how often would be over doing it? and is there a way to get them to enjoy the bath or water? please help ~confused ferret mommy~

Have you tried using a plant mister to spray them, it's only a very gentle spray of water but they might like it.

I have two ferrets and one tolerates water, the other hates it. If you dont want to force them to bathe try spray shampoo, you dont need water and you can get it at any pet store. i recommend though that you do bath them. Try not to run the water while they are in the tub becuase the sound might scare them. about how often over bathing can cause their oil glands to go on overdrive making them smell worse. I bathe my ferrets maybe once every 3-4 weeks. Unless they get into something. I dont know a way to make them like it but maybe give them a treat afterwards so they come to relate bathing with a short inconvience followed by a reward.
